"India in the WTO" blog future …
OK, now I haven’t blogged here since 29 May. I was overly involved with some other projects. Plus, I wanted to think about what the future of this blog would be. Two issues were troubling me particularly. First, I noticed that some people had used my original analyses on this blog without acknowledging the blog. Second, was a related concern about whether I myself was benefiting from my efforts here or was I simply feeding information to others.
Despite my long absence, I have noticed that this blog continues to generate hits and get visitors. Over the last few months, even with no new posts, this blog has averaged between 600-900 hits per week. Plus the blog has been cited in an academic paper by Professor Rochelle Dreyfuss of NYU school of law, see IILJ Working Paper 2009/5.
I think the blog has a future but it needs to evolve from hosting informational reports and newsy posts to more analytical posts. Plus, I want to make sure that I get credit for my work posted here. I am still figuring out how to ensure this as I carry this effort forward. One possibility would be to pre-circulate / publish new content through a newsletter format and make it available on this blog after a time-lag.
More detailed posts will also mean that the blog will get updated less frequently than in the past. But I hope the quality of new posts will compensate.
It is really commendable that you invest so much of your time and attention on this blog, that is evident by its rich content. While I agree that you need to ensure that your blogs are not misused, I request you to continue with the blog in the way you think is best, without any loss to avid readers like me who get to gather info on varied issues of international economic relation under a single forum.
Many Thanks
